Fr. Mike Quinn is a native of San Francisco, who with his brothers and sister, was raised by parents who taught the Faith at home. He is the product of Catholic education from grammar school at Most Holy Redeemer, to Archbishop Riordan High School, University of San Francisco (Business/ Accounting) to Creighton University (Masters in Theology), in addition to Seminary training. His business career prior to becoming a priest includes Price Waterhouse CPAs, Grant Thornton CPAs, Delta Dental, AC Transit and self-employment. Before entering the Seminary in 2003, Fr. Quinn served as a lay volunteer in religious education for youth preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation at his home parish in Novato. Fr. Quinn was ordained to the priesthood in 2009.

Fr. Quinn endeavors to bring all his life lessons and talents to his ministry at St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Sausalito. He credits his training as a Deacon at Holy Name of Jesus parish in San Francisco, and his assignment to San Francisco's St. Brendan parish upon his ordination with preparing him to be Pastor of this wonderful community in Sausalito. In his tenure to date, our clubs, ministries and parish have grown with the emphasis on being a welcoming environment for all to become family and practice our faith in all we do. Fr. Quinn also serves as a chaplain to the San Francisco Police Department, on the Finance Boards of the Archdiocese and Board of Holy Cross Cemetery, and as Dean of southern Marin Catholic Parishes.

Music Director

Robin Olive

Cantor

Satoko Fujiwara

Robin Olive hails from Grantham, England and has been involved in choir music as a talented musician since the age of nine. Robin had exceptional mentors, which is evident in his vast array of musical talents. He has been part of the Grantham Orchestra in England, and has given recitals and recorded his music throughout the United States. He strives to make each liturgical event his finest effort. Robin is a convert to Roman Catholicism from the Episcopal faith, which he credits to the efforts of previous St. Mary Star of the Sea pastor Fr. Richard Deitch. Working with Fr. Deitch, Robin was responsible for replacing the church's original organ (upon its demise) with what some consider the finest organ of its type in Marin County. A musical instrument is only as good as the talents of the musician, and Robin does not disappoint. While his repertoire is not limited to a single musical instrument, his joy is to present the finest organ music possible.

Satoko Fujiwara is our talented cantor who also serves as Director of Music at Old St. Mary’s in San Francisco. Satoko is sought-after due her tone and range of singing abilities. As a highly trained musician, she and Robin Olive communicate and practice to deliver the finest in traditional church music. San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone described the combined efforts of Satoko and Robin as “wonderful at elevating the liturgies.” Satoko is the proud mother of two and delights in singing at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.
